The King is Coming began with a simple question: what if we took the best of a morning prayer experience and combined it with the songs and stories we were already sharing at night? What if we made a durable, singable, board book family liturgy for Advent? Starting with the liturgical seasons, this book guides families through daily prayer during Advent—incorporating familiar rhythms of prayer, study, and worship with accessible language and scriptural references for deeper parent-guided study. The response from our local church community was incredibly affirming, and the effect we experienced first-hand—functionally teaching our son prayers of repentance and grace, the Lord’s Prayer, and the general arc of Advent—confirmed that families are hungry for resources like this.
