πŸ‘‘ Advent is here! and concert recap

A time of waiting for King Jesus to make all things new.

This year to initiate our time of liturgical waiting, we had a concert and Advent wreath making party at All Saints Dallas. It was a giant story-time experience featuring many of the voices on the album (Hart was particularly excited to use the microphone) where the kids taught the grown-ups how to pray. We had some last-minute percussion and keys support and the band sounded full and glorious in between the children-led discussion.

It really was a special time. My dream is one day to have these children-led liturgies mark the change of all the liturgical seasons. Thanks again for everyone who was able to attend!

And for now I feel like we’ve accomplished something in the book and album, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity again to read through The King is Coming with my family.

I was wondering how the book would land almost a year later with my now 2 year old, but it feels even richer now as he’s memorized every word on every page thanks to the music. Thank God!

May this Advent be one of great hope and anticipation. πŸ‘‘ The King is Coming!
